Privacy Policy — FocusOS
Effective 4 November 2026 · Published by PRODM IT Solutions
Short version: FocusOS runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There is no account and no sign-in.
1. Information we collect
None. FocusOS does not collect personal information. Anything the app stores (your settings, streak and on-device focus stats) is kept only on your device and is never uploaded to us or anyone else. We have no servers that receive your data.
2. Permissions
- Accessibility Service: Detect when a blocked app or its short-video feed is in the foreground to show the coach screen. It never reads, stores, or transmits your screen content — only which app is in front.
- VPN (on-device DNS filter): Run a LOCAL, on-device DNS filter that blocks distracting websites in any browser. It is NOT a remote VPN — your internet traffic is never routed to us or any server, and browsing is never logged or inspected.
- Usage Access: Show your own focus and 'blocked today' statistics. Stored on device, never uploaded.
- Display over other apps: Show the coach screen over a blocked feed.
- Query installed apps: Detect which distracting apps are installed so you can choose to block them. Read on-device only.
- Foreground service + boot: Keep the on-device filter running (with a persistent 'protection on' notification) and re-arm protection after a restart.
3. Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details. Google's handling of that transaction is governed by Google's privacy policy.
4. Data sharing & security
Because your data stays on your device, it is as secure as your device. We do not share data with third parties (there is none to share). If you uninstall the app, your on-device data is removed by the operating system.
5. Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date above will change. Material changes will be reflected in the app listing.
